Hello! I’m Julian. I was born and raised in Shanghai and now call Toronto home. I studied photography and started my career as a press photographer, which taught me to pay attention, anticipate moments, and tell a story without interfering with what’s happening.

I’ve always been a technical person and, admittedly, a bit of a perfectionist. I enjoy the details behind filmmaking just as much as the creative side, whether it’s cameras, audio, editing, or figuring out the best way to capture something. I tend to notice the little things, and that attention to detail carries through from the wedding day to the final film.

Outside of weddings, I love travelling, exploring new places, and bringing a camera along whenever I can. Travel has shaped the way I see things and made me more observant of people, places, light, and atmosphere.

On a wedding day, I’m naturally pretty quiet and low-key. I’d much rather let you enjoy the day than turn it into a production. I’ll step in with some direction when it’s helpful, but most of the time I’m simply watching for the real moments and little interactions that make the day yours.

After more than a decade and over 700 weddings, that’s still the part I enjoy most: taking all of those moments and putting them together into a film that feels genuine, personal, and true to you.
